ⅠThe road in nature just being like that of our life.
The forked roads described in the poem are, in fact, our life paths. When facing so many forked roads in our life, we choose different routines, different roads, which leads us to absolutely distinct fates. People in their life long journey will encounter countless choices, moreover, almost each one will have a great influence on our life. How a person spends all his life depends on his choices that he has made in the crossroads, as a result, different choices mean different experiences, different fates. It seems that we meet with too many choices so that even we ourselves do not know which one plays a crucial role. As a matter of fact, our life is to make a decision between A series and B series. If we choose A, it means that we will miss B. At that time we not only have no chance to make a choice but also we are deprived of opportunity to “peep” undone decision. Therefore you can not imagine what your life will be like. We must often make a decision among two roads, two opinions, or two actions, different decisions will cause different life directions. People tend to be hesitated and think them over and over again, even though they can not strike a balance between the two. Yet they must make a choice in front of reality and choose one of roads.
However, few of them can insist on his own chosen road and walk along it without any regrets. Perhaps they think, at night, if I choose another road at the beginning, I am not what I am now. If others just choose the road you give up and have made great achievements, you are innevitably bound to feel depressed and moody. But you should not know that the person actually envy your choice regretting his chosen road. Comparing natural roads to life roads, the poet hopes that we must have a heavy consideration on our decisions, because we can not come back here. The poet use common paths in the forest to express profound philosophy of life-----how to make a decision------we have to make a choice, because there are plenty of roads, even though we want more , we can not .
Aggressive desire leads us endless pursuits. Whereas when we stand in the crossroads, we just have a choice and choose a road no matter how many chances we have .Of course we will hesitate out of no turning back instead of being afraid of difficulties and troubles. Therefore no matter which way you have chosen, you have to persist it. You can stop and have a rest to obtain some comforts or even complain from your choice. But you must realize everything is doomed at the moment of making the choice. The reason is easy to see that almost everything can restart but our life is exception for it is just a lane not a round. Therefore our difficulty is more than persistence but wise choice. The old saying goes “we can have fish and bear at the same time” which clearly tells us the same truth. Maybe the other way may lead us to a brighter future, however, that is just possibility. Frost not only expresses different choices among different roads, especially important, he want to emphasize accident and mystery of our life journey, reminding us of innumerable possibility. After choosing a road and walking on it, we will meet forked roads again and thus we must make a hard choice again. We do not realize these ordinary choices we have made have so great influence on our all life until we are old and recall our choice .It is unsatisfaction that we have with our life, so we become more longing for unchosen road. The poet can not forget the unchosen road all the time instead of his past choice, which is just picture of our life. Therefore it is common that we shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages hence: two roads diverged in a wood and we ---we took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference.
Ⅱ The probe of the writer’s inner activity by the road he has taken.
The poem portraits a person who is facing a hard decision and what mood he possesses at that time. It is obvious that the poet is rather hesitated and contradictory. He does not afraid he make a wrong decision .As a matter of fact, he feels sorry for our human beings who must choose a road even though a pile of roads are in front of them. He clearly recognises choosing makes selector loss other possibilities. What is more, the scenery of the other road is perhaps more pleasant and has more unknown fun. The poet, of course, is brimming with feelings and illusion to another road when he has chosen one in his heart. He imagines he will recall his past in the future at that moment suddenly realizing his fate depends on his choice.” And be one traveler, long I stood” indicates heavy thinking in his heart :one road is plain and is easy to see its end while the other is secluded and desolate which just attract him to explore and conquer .”He understand in his soul unlimited beautiful
